Changelog

WP Moo is open to its first beta users. It checks your WordPress and WooCommerce sites from the outside, without a plugin, and shows you in plain words when something breaks. Email alerts are coming soon.

• Page checks for your important pages: online, speed, size and content, as often as every 30 seconds.
• Site checks for SSL & certificate, Redirects, DNS & mail, Domain, WordPress, Exposure, Private files and Search engines.
• Sites grouped by hosting server, so you see one outage when a server goes down.

The beta is free and invite-only. Join the waitlist to get an invite, and see what we're building next on the roadmap.

Once a day, WP Moo looks for files that should never be public: copies of wp-config, .env files, a .git folder, PHP error logs and upload folders anyone can browse.

Adding a site now takes a minute.

• Enter an address and WP Moo looks the site up from outside: what it runs, its main address, server, pages, domain and mail.
• A typo gets a "did you mean", and a site you already added links to the one you have.
• Shop pages, the login page and the sitemap are suggested as pages to check.
• Add a new server without leaving the flow.

Group sites by the hosting server they run on.

• A servers screen with the status of every server.
• Sites are matched to their server by DNS, and sites without a server are listed so you can assign them.
• The sites list can group sites by server.

Make sure search engines see the pages you want them to see, and none of the ones you don't.

• Flags a noindex or nofollow on a page that should be found, and a canonical link to another domain.
• Flags a thank-you page that search engines can still list.
• Choose per page whether it should be found, hidden, or not checked.

Checks made for WordPress sites.

• WordPress finds your login page and watches it, along with the REST API, a public debug.log and readme.html.
• Exposure reads what your site gives away about its server, PHP and Plesk versions, with the fix for each.
• Sites behind Cloudflare are recognised and labelled.

Two checks for the things that sit outside the site but can take it down.

• DNS & mail watches your DNS records and tells you when mail or name servers are lost, an address changes, mail moves to another provider or SPF and DMARC have problems.
• Domain reads the expiry date, status and registrar from the registry, and warns before the domain expires or when it's put on hold.

The first site checks, looking past single pages at the site as a whole.

• SSL & certificate warns before a certificate expires and flags one that doesn't match the domain.
• Redirects follows the http, https and www versions of your address, and old domains you add, to make sure they all end on your site. Loops, wrong destinations, extra hops and temporary redirects are reported.

A firewall that blocks our checker isn't the same as a site that's down, so WP Moo now tells the two apart.

• Blocks by Cloudflare, Wordfence, Imunify360, Sucuri and SiteGround are recognised.
• A blocked page gets its own status and never counts as down.
• A banner explains how to let our checker through, and the bot page lists the addresses to allow.

See how a page has been doing, not just how it's doing now.

• A page detail screen with the last check, a speed chart, recent checks and the technical details.
• Uptime for the last 24 hours up to a whole year, and a bar per day for the last 60 days.
• Run all checks for a site by hand when you've just fixed something.

The checks themselves. Every page you add is checked from the outside, as often as every minute.

• Each check looks at whether the page is online, how fast it answers, how big it is and whether its content is there.
• A failure is confirmed from a second location before a page counts as down, so a hiccup on one network doesn't wake you up.
• Every status change keeps the reason it changed.

Decide how closely each site is watched.

• A priority per site: how quickly a problem on it reaches you.
• Per page: how often it's checked and how important it is when it goes down.
• Turn each site check on or off and choose how often it runs.
• Pause a site while you work on it and resume it later, without losing your settings.
• Unsaved changes are marked, and a save bar follows you down long settings pages.

Add the sites you look after and the pages on them that matter most.

• A sites list with a filter, status tabs and the most urgent sites first.
• A site overview with its priority, its tags and its pages.
• Tags you add inline, to group sites by client, host or anything else.
