White screen

A blank page means the server answered, but with next to nothing. Visitors see an empty white screen. It's almost always a PHP error that isn't shown, so the steps come down to finding that error.

How to fix it

WP Moo sees the page again on its next check, and the problem goes away by itself.

Check the PHP error log

Open the PHP error log in your hosting panel. The last lines name the file that failed, which tells you the plugin or theme. Switch that one off, as explained under Critical error.

Is the memory limit too low?

An error with "Allowed memory size exhausted" means PHP ran out of memory. Raise the memory limit in your hosting panel, or ask your host to.

Clear the cache

Sometimes a caching plugin or Cloudflare stored the blank page and keeps serving it after the cause is gone. Clear the cache in the plugin and at Cloudflare, then check the page again.

Did the page lose its content?

Is only this page blank, and is the rest of the site fine? Open it in the WordPress editor and check that its content is still there. A page builder that's switched off can leave a page empty.
